Datu-One Page Paper
by Ancient Culture
Dear sir Marcus,
Greetings to you from the tribes in Philippines, thank you so much for the kind words, yes the deadline is March 31,2021.
This was agreed last December 1,2020 with the tribal owners of the 100 hectares.
There are lots of private persons, investors and real estate companies, business tourism want to buy the land from the tribal dealers.
I can't name them, because every day different new faces come and go. They want to buy all the land for self interest.
By the way, there is an update of the fundraising campaign made by Madam Thomas, and it is very helpful to convince the donors.
I have partially talked to the clan owners and asked not to sell the land after the deadline. I told them that If we can put a partial money of 30kusd then, they will not sell the land.
I told them, that we can continue to fundraise money to buy all their lands sacred forest in order not to sell it to the capitalists for mining and logging.
The 2 land owners agreed that 30k usd is the partial payment for 100 hectares. They said it is very ok. I told them also to sign the deed of sale, they said they are OK for that.
For this we need to put a partial amount to the sacred forest.
Please let me me what things to do, my point is to save the last home of the tribes.
Love and respect

Map of the 50 hectares sold in Mount Tambulan
by Hinrich Paulsen
Dear Datu,
wishing you a pleasant start into your day! Please find attached the
updated map and tell me if this is correct. As you can easily see the
area is not 50 ha in size. If this were the case then it should be half
the size of the Sacred Forest in the map. My GIS tells me that it is
2.88 ha. Is the location and the size correct?
Best regards,
Hinrich

Dear all,
the map can be updated whenever I get the geodata from Datu.
Showing the location on the map will help to provide the transparency
needed for the donors.

Dear all,
it is very sad to read this communication but it should just serve to
strengthen our resolve.
Could I ask you to always also copy hermosa(a)list.mundialis.de, so that
these mails show up in the archives and other people, like Rochyne and
Alisha, who are being very helpful in our endeavour, have a chance to
know what is being discussed and where we stand. It would also be good
to NOT change the subject line because then we open up multiple threads
which all somehow belong together.
Best regards,
Hinrich

Re: Update
by Ancient Culture
Dear Madam Kelli and Sir Henrich:
Greetings to you,
Thank you so much for the message, the Higaonon tribe here in the forest is still hopefull amidst of the storm of destruction in the remaining sacred forest. It is very sad that our last home, the place of reconnection and survival of the next generation is uncertain. For now we cannot do anything since it is the power of money to save the remaining sacred forest.
There are lots of doubts if we can survive or destroyed. We are surrounded by the powerful business capitalists(miners, loggers and real estate) that will let us to be wiped out so that there business interests will be catered and strengthened. Very sad that we are hanging now, we don't know what will happen in the future or we will all die.
For now, the tribal dealers are continuing to sell the sacred lands to the capitalists, their eyes covered by money without seeing back that their last home will be devoured by the powerful outsiders. If no one will extend their support then we will sacrifice our presence in the sacred forest and we will fight till the our last drops of our blood and we will all die.
For this, we are to come and kneel down to ask for your support, this is our sacred forest part of the mother earth and we need to save this. Remember that we are in the mother earth, our unity and support will overcome the entry of the capitalists.
For this, please see the answers below of the the following questions:
1. introduce all the various people in the world who are currently and or have previously helped you with this issue to Henrich's group so we can all put our hearts and minds together to get this done.
Answer: I had already shared the fundraising campaign but no one replied, but still to find kind people to join our cause
2. let me know what content you can offer straight away (if any) or what you believe you can offer to start with from your current educational curriculum to introduce your Tribe to the world so I can create an introduction to get started..
Answer: The only way that we can offer is to save the remaining sacred forest, provide food security and nature and culture connection as the fundamentals of cultural survival. We believe that forest destruction is tribal extinction. We believe that protecting the forest protectors will save the mother earth.
3. The Paypal email address that is linked to the NGO bank account in the Philippines.
Answer: the organization paypal email address is ancientculture(a)yahoo.com.ph
Please let me know of any way s that we can do, looking forward to hearing you soon.
Love and respect.

Hi Datu,
Thank you for being so patient, I know you are feeling very concerned and it has not been as smooth and timely as expected.
As I mentioned to you, it is not an easy path to proceed with my ideal approach to assist you with the funds to purchase the Sacred Forest.
I have no choice but to change my approach and strategy because it is not possible to gain Corporate and or alternative donated funds without being able to provide the required due diligence for this option. We (myself and another third party) have not been able to contact the previous auditors and or legal representative in the Philippines and so I believe the following is the current situation and my best offer to assist from this point forward.
I talked at length with Henrich from Germany, he is a great man to have on your side and he has a network of other business people interested in helping you with your important cause.
The general consensus is that there is a lot of hope and interest in helping you and your entire community, however, there is a lot of work to be done towards the best-case solution/scenario, and it is very important that all parties who are currently working towards helping you need to come together as a cohesive group. There appears to be a lot of us, which is fantastic for you but perhaps it is wise for you to introduce us all to the group that Henrich has set up and you are a part of so we can all work together which is in everyone's best interests and will provide you with a stronger support and success rate.
I believe there is a man in the USA who is currently setting up with an organization there who will be able to receive donations on your behalf with a Tax Deductible donation ...great news but it will also take time and I think you will find that they will also require the items I require and possible more but I don't know for sure and I will leave that up to a further investigation in the group.
So my friend, where does this leave us??
I can offer to help you send people to your GoFundMe campaign and I am willing to work with you to create a monetized site i.e. membership; Patreon page vlog etc for you to share with your supporters the Tribal Culture - Educational/ material we talked about / Craft/ Dance/ Rituals/ Culture experience and content I will still publish a Press Release to the news network which I have already planned and it is ready to publish once I have something solid to send the traffic and backlinks to.
Obviously, I need you to do the work to deliver the content and I will make sure it is in a format that suits the platform and drives traffic to your campaigns.
I am going to create a new fundraising campaign for you and so I will use the NGO details and bank account details that you have sent me previously and also please send me the Paypal account that is attached to the NGO email and NGO account.
Our campaign goals are to
1. secure the 100 hectares of the Sacred Forest US $50,000
2. create an ongoing monthly income for your community from offering content and connection with your Tribe in exchange for a monthly commitment from supporters
3. work towards a longer-term plan of being able to secure/acquire all of the remaining land available and assisting your Tribe and community to become self-sustainable and create alternative/local ways of creating an income and improve your access to education (if that is a desire).
Please stay positive, nothing negative has happened, we are working through the process and we now know more and we can keep moving with the same energy for a different approach.
So I kindly ask you to;
1. introduce all the various people in the world who are currently and or have previously helped you with this issue to Henrich's group so we can all put our hearts and minds together to get this done.
2. let me know what content you can offer straight away (if any) or what you believe you can offer to start with from your current educational curriculum to introduce your Tribe to the world so I can create an introduction to get started..
3. The Paypal email address that is linked to the NGO bank account in the Philippines.
Thanks Datu, I will wait for your reply.
Alisha, I will send you the link to join the group created by Henrich in Germany.
Peace and harmony to you and stay safe and healthy!!

Hi Hinrich and community members,
Thanks for sharing the letter to support Datu's work to save sacred indigenous and in the Philippines from development. I have attached the document with some suggested changes.
I am working with a Fiscal Sponsor in the US to help ensure donations are tax deductible here - Tribal Trust Fdn.
Let me know if you know anyone in the US who is also looking to donate but were waiting for tax deductions.

Dear Marcus,
hopefully this mail finds you well!
Last week we had a milestone meeting for our HERMOSA project which kept
me very busy but now things are calming down a bit.
Attached is a one-pager I wrote after James Atkins suggested this to
increase visibility for Datus cause. I am wondering if I can add your
name and email address so that people have other options than just
contacting Datu.
May I suggest that you register on the mailing list
(https://list.mundialis.de/accounts/signup/?next=/postorius/lists/hermosa....),
so that we can move discussions out into the open?!
Best regards,
Hinrich

Re: Saving not only the Sacred Forest of the Higa-onon tribe in the Philippines
by Hinrich Paulsen
Hi Steve,
thank you very much for this very important comment.
Yes, it is a challenge to make sure that once the land is sold to Datu
it does not get resold and destroyed. According to plans the sale will
be duly notarized and beneficiary will be the community represented by
(probably) the Tribes and Natures Defenders Inc., a Sustainable Business
Enterprise which aims to preserve the land for future generations.
Datu has agreed to share the legal document publicly and I have
suggested to add a clause regarding the protection of the land
safeguarding against future sales that would deviate from the
conservation objective.
Best regards,
Hinrich
